“They Came”
First they came for our education system
and I didn’t speak up because I had no kids in school.
Then they came for the banking institution
and I didn’t speak up because I had very little money.
Then they came for the auto industry
and I didn’t speak up because I drive a used truck.
Then they came for our healthcare system
and I didn’t speak up because I’m in good health.
Then they came for the student loan program
and I didn’t speak up because I already graduated.
Then they came for my church, my job, my home, and my gun
but it was too late for me as free America was no more.
